ARCHIVES FOR UFO RESEARCH

AFU

Inventory of magazines and other serials - published from the United States,  titles beginning with letters A--K (list updated March 5, 2006)

C-Com is a 'broad-minded' US publication edited by Erich A. Aggen, a long-time contributor of articles to U.S. UFO magazines. Since 1993 he publishes this interesting newsletter-style magazine, usually six pages of text (very few illustrations!) - monthly. C-Com stands for Classified Communications, which was also the name of the magazine during the first three years. The subject spectrum covered is very broad (and often thought-provoking)

Rod Dyke, our exchange partner on the U.S. west coast sent us a collection of 96 different issues which neatly combined with our previous holdings of C-Com into a fairly complete collection, up to mid-2006 issues. The C-Com collection was part of six heavy parcels that arrived from Dyke in February 2007 and which we are still trying to find the time to 'distill', in between "moving around" with our archives in this summer (of 2007).

Clas Svahn's November 2006 tour of Britain brought a large number of old (but new to AFU...) magazines, also from US publishers. Here are some pictures of the newcomers donated by Janet and Colin Bord of North Wales, well known authors of Fortean books.

In the picture a thick stack of William Corliss's Science Frontiers   newsletter. In fact, we are now happy to own a complete collection of all issues numbered 1 to 165, which brings us almost up to date.

In the picture also a number of issues of Alternate Perceptions, Farout, Skeptic's UFO Newsletter  and the three issues of the MUFON UFO Journal  which have been missing in our files, now kindly donated to us by the Bords.

A newcomer was also a complete collection (issues # 1-17)  of the fortean newsletter Elsewhen, published 1989-1991 by Mark R. Gardner out of Oregon. According to Gardner's present web site on his Vulcan Language Institute we might be missing issue 18 and 19 of Elsewhen.

On April 24, 2006 the doorbell rang and the postman delivered an Express parcel from Rod B. Dyke    as part of our cross-Atlantic exchange program with the US west coast-based Archives for UFO Research (AUFOR).

The parcel included about 40 (mostly) American newsletters ranging from Bulletin of Anomalous Experience   to Visitor   (Detroit, Michigan) and The Ufologist (publ. by Terrell W. Ecker). The new material will eventually be included in an updated version of the US listing below.

Another parcel with European materials will go away soon to Dyke.
