Inventory of magazines and other serials - published from Finland - updated March 5, 2006

Kalevi Mikkonen donated, in
October 2006, a full set of the Quarterly reports (Neljännesvuosiraportti)
of the Suomen
Ufotutkijat ry, the UFO Researchers of Finland. The
quarterly reports were published between 1974 and 1989 and have
since been replaced by a yearbook, faithfully published each
year by this lively group.
The Neljännesvuosiraportti was a duplicated publication that included lists of new Finnish sighting reports received by the Finnish UFO report centre, |

| reviews of articles in Finnish printed media, and contemporary reports from Finnish ufology. The quarterly reports have been archived in a thick folder with the AFU magazines & serials collection. We previously had English versions of a few of these reports - it is not known if such versions in English exist for them all. | |

Tapani Kuningas
was the editor of
Ufoaika, a Finnish UFO periodical published by the
Finnish Interplanetarian Society between 1972 and 1974. In late
1974, Kuningas' broadened the scope of the publication and the
name was then changed to
Ultra.
Still publishing, it has now a majority of non-UFO related 'New
Age'-oriented materials but always with some UFO news or reviews
of UFO literature in each issue. The publishing company behind
Ultra, Ultra-lehti, also published the annual book sized report
of
Suomen Ufotutkijat ry, The UFO Researchers of Finland.
We had a substantial (almost complete) collection of Ultra but in year 2000 we lost the publication among our regular incoming mail. In 2005, we wrote Tapani Kuningas and asked him to reconsider to continue donating it to us and we have since received the publication every month. Thank you very much! The 2005-2006 issues are not included in the updated list below, purely because we have not yet found the time to catalogue them. If anyone can fill out the Ultra holes in our collection (1975, 1976, 1977, 1982 and 2000-2005) please contact AFU. |
